Well, i had the chance to fish Penny Hill today and what can i say about it, well its absolutly fantastic:thumbup:.There are loads of reeds to fish to and you can even see the carp crashing through them. I fished a 20g small black cap feeder with hemp and worm on a hair, the fish are very willing, and i got 2 fin & scale perfect commons of about 1/2lb each 2 roach in the same condition & about 18 or so skimmers. Once you get the skimmers feeding there is no getting away from them, i was getting a fish a chuck (no kidding)and to say they haven't been fished much they know the sound of food hitting the water. I had to leave early cos i ran out of bait. I did try meat but didn't get much of a responce, i wonted one of the big perch but they never showed and i pull out of 2 fish but i don't know what they where. There were fish on top on the bottom and at the edge taking the flys right at my feet, so get your ticket booked guys cos when there gone and you go as a guest you will kick yourself for not getting one and for that price, you wont find a pond in the country with the same stamp of fish. Can i say a big big thank you to Gizzy for the chance to fish it and to the owners for leasing it to us, a great day was had by me and its all thanks to them thanks again guys:thumbup1: NORBS.
Pics will follow and i must appologise for the poor quality but i forgott my batterys for my camera so had to take them on my phone.

could not get fishing early, so i decided to fish the fosse dyke in saxilby village, it normally fishes well, skimmers bream perch and plenty of roach on hemp and tares, anyway started fishing at 10 oclock, i was fishing mainly for skimmers and bream, i plumbed around for 5 minutes and marked the depth on my pole tip before moving the float up 3 inches,so i cupped 6 balls(at 11.5 mts) of ground bait, mixed with a few squatts, casters and a few 4mm pellets, also a cup of chopped worm, a quick cuppa whilst the bait settled and hopfully the fish moved in, after the cuppa a couple of red maggots on a size 18 hook, after 10 minutes another cup of worms and pellets, a piece of worm on the hook this time, nothing, off came the worm on went a single caster, still nothing, worm and red, nothing, caster and red, nothing,a litte red worm ,still not a bite, shallow up a bit,put extra depth on,still nothing,(by this time i was wishing i was back at work , ye like hell i was pleased to be able to fish local waters),then i had a brain wave you have guessed another cuppa ,a quick look at the watch 5 past 1, of my box to my holdall a top 3 section with a no 3 elastic,a delve into the winder tray, a .3 float selected,i tied a 22barbless hook onto the rig,set it at about 2 ft deep, feed a few squatts, double squatt on the hook, the float disapeared bleak, was i pleased to see it,fed a few more squatts another one, i ended up with 21 of these before the sky came black,i then decided to pack up, i made it before the heavens opened up, believe it or not i really enjoyed the first days fishing, although things can only get better
